Soroptimist International
Our club, Soroptimist International of Wyandotte Southgate Taylor, is in District III of the Midwestern Region. That is in SI of the Americas Federation, one of four federations world-wide under the international umbrella of the Soroptimist International. It is the largest volunteer classified women's organization in the world.

What Does "Soroptimist" mean?
Soroptimist is a coined name meaning "best for women".


Members and Clubs
Soroptimist International (the parent organization) has about 95,000 members. Our Federation, SI of the Americas has about 45,000 members. We are business and professional women of all ages, cultures and ethnic groups.

Our Mission and Funding
Soroptimist's mission is to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. We are funded in part by investment income and member's dues and contributions. As a 501(c)(3) organization, the organization depends on outside tax deductible contributions from those who want to help improve the lives of women and girls.
